Vodafone Idea offers an additional 2GB of data as part of the Rs 219 plan: details inside


NEW DELHI: Vodafone idea Users can now enjoy an additional 2 GB of data. Telecommunications provider Vi is now making 2 GB of additional data available to its subscribers as part of the prepaid tariff of Rs 219. The offer is only available on the web and in the Vi app.
The service provider offers 1 GB of data per day as part of its 219 plan. This means that users get a total of 28 GB of data. However, after the revision, users of the Rs 219 plan will get a total of 30GB of data.
The plan also offers the ability to make unlimited local and national calls along with 100 SMS per day. This Vi prepaid plan is valid for 28 days. In addition to this plan, Vi subscribers also have free access to Vi films and TV Basic.
To take advantage of the additional 2GB of data, users need to top up using either the company website or the mobile app.
Meanwhile, the Department of Telecom (DoT) has imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 crore on Vodafone Idea and Rs 1,050 crore on Bharti Airtel based on sector oversight train‘s recommendation, according to sources, five years ago. The DoT has given telecom operators three weeks to pay the fine.
In October 2016, India’s Telecom Regulator (Trai) recommended that Airtel, Vodafone and Idea (now merged) be fined Rs 3,050 crore for allegedly denying interconnectivity Trust Jio. The regulator had stopped recommending the cancellation of its telecommunications licenses at this point as it could cause significant inconvenience for consumers.
Trai’s recommendation was based on a complaint from Reliance Jio that over 75 percent of calls on its network failed because the incumbent operators did not release enough points of interface (PoIs).
