Last year Spotify introduced Blend, a new feature that lets you and your friend combine your favorite songs into a shared playlist. The feature has not seen any significant changes since its introduction. But that is finally changing as Spotify has announced a major update to Blend that expands its scope and potential.
Blend currently allows two people to mix their favorite tracks into a playlist to match their music tastes. Spotify says you can now create blend playlists with up to 10 people. To try it out, open the Spotify app and search for “Blend.” Then tap the “Create a Blend” button and press Invite to add your friends and family members. Once your friends accept your invitation, Spotify will automatically create a personalized playlist that shows everyone’s favorite songs and music preferences.
- to create + Invite: Just search for “mix” within the “Search” tab on Spotify. Then, tap “Invite” to select people to blend in.
- mix: Once your friend accepts the invite, Spotify will generate your shared blend playlist, which will include songs and recommendations that reflect everyone’s musical preferences and tastes. You will also be able to see which songs were added for which friend.
- Hear + SHARE: After everyone joins a collaborative playlist, you and your friends will receive a custom share card that you can use to promote on social media.
In addition to friends and family, users can now blend their playlists with artists like BTS, Charli XCX, JO1, Kacey Musgraves, Lauv, Megan Thee Stallion, BE:FIRST, Mimi Web, NiziU, Tai Verdes, Xam, Camilo, and more can do.
