oneplus: OnePlus 9RT could launch in India on that date, likely with a different name

OnePlus 9RT was launched in China last month (October 2021) and according to an alleged listing in Google’s list of supported devices, the smartphone will be launched in India as OnePlus RT. The device is the successor to the company’s cheapest OnePlus 9 series phone, OnePlus 9R, which launched in April this year. Although OnePlus has not yet announced any plans to launch the smartphone in India, a tweet from tipster Max Jambor claims the device will hit the country on December 16. The tipster announced the date in response to an Indian blogger’s tweet.
Even though the smartphone supposedly comes out with a different name, it is expected to have the same design and specifications as its Chinese counterpart. The handset was also recently spotted on the BIS certification website, indicating its upcoming launch in India. Likewise, the fact that India is one of the primary markets for OnePlus, increases the chances that the company will launch the phone in the country.
