At his Unleashed event in October Apple launched new MacBook Pros and new M1 processors. While it wasn’t officially launched, another product found its way onto Apple’s shelves. The product was Apple Polishing cloth. With a price of Rs 1,900, it can be used to keep a wide variety of Apple devices clean. It looks like Samsung seems to mock Apple by offering some of its users their own cleaning cloth.
According to a report by SamMobile, Samsung is giving us a cleaning cloth for some users of the Galaxy S20. However, unlike Apple, Samsung does not charge its customers any fees. In contrast to Apple, whose polishing cloth is available worldwide, Samsung only does this in Germany. And these are also available in limited quantities, according to the report. The report goes on to say that the Samsung cloth is about 50% bigger than what Apple offers.
It’s not clear why Samsung did this other than it looks like they are making fun of Apple for putting something out on the market that may not have been needed. After all, most people clean their devices with whatever cloth they have on hand, right? That said, Samsung has a history of digging into Apple products or features, so it’s no surprise if it does this too.
Still, Apple’s polishing cloth is apparently in great demand as the orders were placed more than a few weeks ago. About the cloth, Apple says: “The polishing cloth is made of a soft, non-abrasive material and cleans any Apple display, including nanostructured glass, safely and effectively.”
